IFDC Nigeria Senior Research Assistant Vacancies
(1) IFDC- an
International Center for Soil Fertility and Agricultural Development
seeks a qualified candidate to fill the post of
SENIOR RESEARCH ASSISTANT within the Policy Theme
Component of the Agricultural Policy Support Facility (APSF). The
Nigerian APSF aims to strengthen Nigerian capacity for evidence-based
policy making in the areas of agriculture, rural development and poverty
reduction. It supports research and capacity strengthening for the
implementation of Nigeria's national development and strategies. Key
research and capacity strengthening activities will be carried out in
collaboration with the Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Agriculture and
Water Resources and with a broad array of agricultural sector
stakeholders, including, other concerned federal and state government
departments, key Nigerian research institutes, and selected private
sector and non-governmental organizations.
Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this Senior Research Assistant are:
1. Master's degree or equivalent in Economics or Agricultural Economics
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
3. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and produce completed
products on time.
4. Strong English writing skills
5. Demonstrated ability to conduct research
6. Capacity for gender-based analysis
7. Familiarity with popular software packages such as STATA or SPSS and
internet-based systems.
8. Self motivated, innovative spirit and excellent interpersonal and
team skills and the ability to work with colleagues from diverse
cultures,
9. Excellent communications and policy research dissemination skills.
10 Familiarity with development policy issues in Nigeria, the ability to
independently design research projects and a publications record.
The location for the above position is Abuja and the duration is 1 year
subject to renewal. The candidate will report directly to the Project
