Medical Director Vacancy at the
University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo state, Nigeria
Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for consideration for appointment as
Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin
Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo state. UBTH is one of
the first generation Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria with capacity for 600
in-patients and offering diverse and specialized services in various
aspects of healthcare:
CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR (Ref.BM/CMD/01/09)
Qualification:
Candidates aspiring to the position should be dynamic, and visionary.
In addition, he or she should have considerable community acceptance.
Furthermore, such a candidate:
1. must possess a basic medical degree, MB,BS or its equivalent obtained
from a reputable University recognized by the National University
Commission (NUC) and Medical and Dental council of Nigeria (MDCN). Such
a degree must have been obtained not less than 12 years from the date of
this advertisement.
2. should hold postgraduate medical qualification, registrable with the
Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) for the purpose of
practicing as a consultant from a recognized body obtained not less than
five years prior to the date of this advertisement.
3. should have displayed exceptional leadership qualities in clinical
duties, research and teaching in conformity with the express mandate of
the University of Benin Teaching Hospital);
4. should have demonstrated enormous capacity for initiating,
supervising and sustaining health related research including those at
the postgraduate levels, and
5 should have experience in Hospital administration and knowledge of the
workings of the Local Hospital system. Formal training in administration
would be an added advantage.
Conditions of Service:
The conditions of service are as obtainable in other Teaching
Hospitals/Public Service in Nigeria.

Interested candidates must submit fifteen copies of their applications
accompanied by detailed curriculum vitae, copies of relevant credentials
and letters from three reputable and relevant referees. This application
must be clearly marked on the top left-hand side of the envelope with
reference number as indicated above.
