Ericsson, the world’s largest
supplier of telecommunications equipment, supplying many companies in
Africa has a vacancy for Regional Manager: Regulatory Affairs (West
Africa).
The successful applicant who will be
based in Lagos will cover Ericsson's West African hub from Cameroon to
Sierra Leone and will be reporting to the Director of Regulatory
Affairs, sub-Saharan African Who is based in Nairobi).
Job requirements for the position are as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
Development creation and development of the role.
Development of Ericsson’s policy on regulatory issues within the region.
Development of a regional strategy for the promotion of Ericsson policy;
Development and maintenance of close internal relationships with key
staff, in particular local account and country managers.
Development and maintenance of a close working relationship with the
regulatory departments and other influential staff in our customer
operators.
Critically, development of a close working relationship with policy
makers and regulators across the region, and other interested
institutions;
Marketing Ericsson’s regulatory views within the region. This will
include speaking at conferences and raising of own personal profile
Required skills:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with substantial experience within the
telecoms industry, part of which must have been in a supervisory
capacity.
Strong commercial knowledge of the telecoms supply chain
Understanding of network topography and spectrum issues desirable.
Familiarity with the application of economics is essential.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to take own initiative.
Ability to make presentations
Ability to travel, sometimes outside West Africa.
