Job announcement for IITA Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP) Job Vacancy in Nigeria

26 Oct-2010 - IITA is an international non-profit Research for Development (R4D) organization with Headquarters in Ibadan, Nigeria has announced vacancies for its Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP). The IITA GTP opportunity is in line organizations wishing to offer young graduates learning and working opportunities for a specific period of time.

According to the release from IITA, the GTP has been developed to meet the Institute's specific manpower needs. As a result IITA has designed the GTP to involve intensive training for one year. Training will be in the Institute's Operational Research Support Units.

A significant career development opportunity associated with the GTP that interested applicants should note is that IITA will offer Successful Trainees under the GTP appointments in the Senior Staff Cadre of the Institute. Such successful trainees will  therefore be required to meet some conditions on assumption of duty as regular staff.

Please note that transition to a full time appointment is not automatic. According to the release from IITA only Trainees that meet IITA's set standards at the completion of the training will be offered regular appointment.


Specific Area of GT Operation include:

Java Programming in IT Systems and Applications
Web Development, Content Management for online repositories. Writing for online media.
Network Administrations
General Human Resources practice.
General Management

Other Conditions:

Age limit: Not more than 28 years
Minimum Class of degree: Second Class Lower for BSc or Upper Credit for HND holders.
NYSC Discharge Certificate: Dated not earlier than 2006

 

Interested? IITA is an established institution, recognized globally for its work in R4D. IITA GTP is obviously geared towards young, fresh graduates. The trainee learns and contributes while the organization provides fixed period work experience. Plus if you do well during the GTP period there is an opportunity for full time employment.
