RECRUITMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OFFICERS INTO THE FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE in Nigeria
The Federal Civil Service Commission of Nigeria conducts
recruitment exercises for Foreign Affairs Officers into the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria
From time to time jobs vacancies are announced to meet human capital
requirements of Nigeria's Federal civil service. As should be expected
the nature and requirements of such jobs vary considerably depending on
the recruiting Ministry as well as position and experience requirements.
For example, the following is a previous job announcement containing
details of positions that have been advertised by the Federal Civil
Service Commission for Foreign Affairs Officers in Nigeria. PLEASE NOTE
THAT THESE JOB VACANCIES ARE ALREADY CLOSED AND PROVIDED ONLY FOR
ARCHIVAL PURPOSES:
Principal Foreign Affairs Officer -SGL 12
(a) Qualification
Candidates wishing to be appointed to the post of Principal Foreign
Affairs Officer, Salary Grade Level 12, should possess a minimum of
Second Class (Hons.) Degree from a recognized University in any of the
following areas:
(i) Social Sciences;
(ii) Languages, preferable French and Arabic;
(iii) Arts;
(iv) Liberal Studies;
(v) Management and Information Technology;
(vi) Law
Masters or PhD in any of the relevant areas stated above will be an
added advantage.
(b) Experience
In addition to (a) above, internal candidates should posses a minimum of
seven (7) years post qualification cognate experience, while external
candidates should possess a minimum of nine (9) years post qualification
cognate experience.
2. Assistant Chief Foreign Affairs Officers - SGL 13
(a) Qualification
Candidates wishing to be appointed to the post of Assistant Chief
Foreign Affairs Officer, Salary Grade Level 13 should possess a Degree
from a recognized University as specified in 1 (a) above.
(b) Experience
In addition to 1 (a) above, internal candidates should possess a minimum
of ten (10) years post qualification cognate experience, while external
candidates should possess a minimum of twelve (12) years post
qualification cognate experience.
