Nigeria Vacancy for Solution Specialist, Business Intelligence
Celtel Nigeria, GSM Telecom provider is inviting applications
for the position of Solution Specialist, Business
Intelligence .
Role Description:
Will ensure that technically up-to-date technology, standards and tools
are used in the provision of Reporting solutions to the business.
Will put in place technology which will ensure that day-to-day
operational functions of Call Data Warehouse Support, such as data
collection, profiling, reports scheduling and delivery of information is
done 100%.
To ensure that all reporting platforms (server-end, middle-tier, and
presentation layers) run with minimal disruption and are supported.
To ensure that effective and efficient data storage, extraction and
summarization of large volumes of data can be done with a high degree of
integrity and accuracy using optimal but world-class technologies and/or
expert-level SQL.
To ensure that all Reporting Requirements of internal customers are
being met, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information.
Qualification
A good university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Mathematics or any numerate science from a reputable university.
Possession of one or more globally recognized certifications in related
Information Technology or Business Intelligence fields will be a
distinct advantage.
Experience
4 years post-NYSC experience in IT, supporting large data warehouse and
business intelligence solutions preferably in Telecoms.
Good knowledge of some of the key technologies and tools within the BI/DW
sector e.g. ORACLE Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Suite,
ORACLE Warehouse Builder, ORACLE Data Integrator , Business Objects,
Cognos, SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Suite, Informatica
etc.
The ability to articulate business and technical issues related to
Performance Management, and clearly explain these to the Business.
Good experience of working with ORACLE BI products, preferably in a Web
based environment,
Exposure to working with differing data sources e.g. Oracle, SQL Server,
IBM DB2, teradata
A minimum of 3 years in-depth experience in SQL and database
programming, architecting and implementing multi-dimensional reporting
solutions, and designing reports using any world-class reporting tool
such as Cognos Impromptu & Report Net, and Oracle Discoverer is
essential.
Proficiency in web-based software development using one or more of the
following; VB.net, Microsoft J#, Microsoft C#, ColdFusion, Macromedia
DreamWeaver.
Proficiency in coding/scripting in any/all of Oracle Discoverer, Oracle
RDBMS (Release 9i or higher), Solaris OS (5.8 or higher).
Very good understanding of system connectivity software technologies
(FTP, Telnet, etc)
2 years experience in the GSM/Telecoms sector
Experience of working in a structured environment, preferably working in
a project based environment,
Exposure to Data Warehouse fundamentals and design methodologies will be
an advantage.
