African University of Science and Technology (AUST) a Pan-African centre of
excellence which will provide quality education in science, technology
and engineering has the following vacancies.
MATRON
The AUST campus is looking for a matron to manage the day to day running
of its student hostel and would have primary responsibility for domestic
affairs of students on campus. The Candidate must have a logical
approach and the ability to interact with different individuals in a
multi-cultural environment. The job would require full-time residence on
the AUST campus.
The successful candidate should be mature and a graduate. Nursing
qualifications and French-speaking abilities will be an added advantage.
ACCOUNTANT
The AUST is looking for an accountant that will be responsible for
financial reporting, closing the University accounting books and records
on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in conformity with Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles.
Reconcile and analyze payroll-related expense and liability accounts on
a monthly basis.
Masters Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of working
experience. Chartered Accountant qualification will be a significant
advantage
Familiarity with financing by multilateral institutions is highly
desired
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and deliver on projects in a
timely manner.
Must have the ability to multi-task on projects and initiatives.
Proficient in various PC applications (including Excel, Microsoft
Project, Visio, Power Point, etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
LIBRARIAN
The AUST is looking for a librarian that can leads the development and
administration of library resources, services and programs including the
digital online library services.
Foster collaborative relative relationships with local and international
institutions.
Manages library facility, writes and administers grants, prepares annual
reports in library related fields.
Masters Degree in Library Science or any other related discipline with a
minimum of 3-5 years working experience.
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of library
science, especially library-related issues in science and technology.
Familiarity with up to date library books and digital online libraries.
Good knowledge of hardware and software computer systems used in the
library environment, including electronic library applications.
Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and
maintaining effect working relations.
