The African Development Bank has a
vacancy for Principal Health
Analyst
in the bank's Division/Department of HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT (OSHD) and Health Division (OSHD.3).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Initiate and conduct missions to identify, prepare, appraise and launch
health projects/programs for Bank-financing and provide recommendations
regarding the amounts, terms and conditions of the loan; Conduct
technical supervision of on-going health projects/programs; Formulate
and propose the Bank’s Country Assistance Strategy for the health
sector; Coordinate loan administration activities related to health
projects/programs; Identify and coordinate the needs for co-financing
health projects/programs and initiate proposals for funding; Represent
the Bank Group at international conferences/meetings, and maintain
dialogue with other development partners supporting the health sector.
Selection Criteria (including desirable skills,
knowledge and experience)
At least a Master’s or equivalent university degree in public health
or health sciences related disciplines;
Preferably a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in
the design, implementation or management of health sector reform
programs at national, regional or international level;
Extensive knowledge of public health issues; demonstrated skills in
introducing methods to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in health
systems;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in
teams and independently, client and result-oriented, strong
organizational skills; strong analytical skills;
Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office applications;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; and
working knowledge in French is an advantage. .
