The African Development Bank has a vacancy for Principal Network Engineer (LAN) in the bank's Division/Department of Information Management & Methods Department (CIMM), LAN, Telecommunications & User Support (CIMM.2).

Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent is expected to lead the Network Engineers team and assist the Division Manager to provide enterprise-wide networking design, implementation, configuration management and support in the area of telecommunications technology to include data, voice, Internet and electronic mail services and videoconferencing technology.

Selection Criteria (including desirable skills, knowledge and experience)
• At least a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems or other related disciplines. Have CCNA / CCNP / CCIE Certifications. A valid and active CCIE certification is required.
• Preferably a minimum of 6 years of relevant practical working experience in network technologies
• Proficient in internetworking technologies
• Hands-on experience in monitoring and troubleshooting enterprise networks
• Hands-on configuration of CISCO Networking or CISCO/Checkpoints Firewall or VPN
• Experience in network monitoring, IP monitoring, IP LANs and WANs
• Network Management Systems (SNMPc, HP OV, CiscoWorks, etc)
• Good team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other language. Excellent customer service.
• Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
