Mar 8, 2010 - The IEEE Communications Society will offer a three day program which can prepare potential exam takers for the IEEE Wireless Communication Engineering Technologies (WCET) Certification exam. The program can also be given as a stand alone program. It will prepare individuals for careers and certification as Wireless Engineering Professionals 

 

The program will consist of tutorials focused on:

wireless access technologies,

network and service architecture,

network management and security,

radio frequency engineering, propagation, and antennas;

facilities infrastructure;

agreements, standards, policies, and regulations;

wireless engineering fundamentals.

 

Interested individuals or organizations can propose a tutorial to cover one or more of the areas mentioned earlier.

 

Tutorials incorporating hands on or simulation exercises are preferable. Ability to cover more than one area of the Wireless Engineering Body of Knowledge (WEBOK) is acceptable. Tutorial durations are one hour, two or three hours, as shown below.

The tutorial developer (s) will be expected to provide IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) with the material by the dates listed below, for review by ComSoc Education Board in order to ensure quality and consistency for the program, and allow the committee to ask for changes as needed. This is also required to provide printed materials to the attendees.

There will be an honorarium for the developer(s).

• Feedback by April 15th, 2010
• Material due by April 30th, 2010
