Sun Developer Day 2006 in Nigeria
French
version
14 July 2006 - Sun Microsystems will hold its Sun Developer Day, a one-day forum in Lagos on July 25, 2006. Sun developer days are major technology events held worldwide for Java and Solaris developers. This will be the first Sun Developer Day ever held in Nigeria.
According to a release from Sun, the aim is to build a Sun Developer community in Nigeria by sharing information on the latest Sun technologies and solutions strategies with developers.
Sessions include:
-
Sun's Overall Software Pitch
-
SOA, JBI, BPEL: Strategy, Design and Best Practices
-
Persistent Techniques for JavaT SE and EE Applications using EJB T
3.0
-
Interoperability using Advanced Web Services and Project Tango
-
Solaris, OpenSolaris and SunT Studio: Changing the Game
-
Code Camp: Web-tier Programming: AJAX
It is a forum that aims to bring together visionaries, leading experts and developers. In view the telecom boom and expectations of growing ICT adoption, Nigeria is seen as one of biggest potential markets for Java usage and adoption.
Java's potential in the Nigerian market can be seen from the perspective that it is unique - it is the only programming language that is multi-platform independent - it runs on mainframe computers PCs, mobile phones, etc.
The forum is therefore an opportunity to share information, get exposure and highlight the opportunity Java presents for programmers and developers. It
is an opportunity to get into the
World of Java

I was at the Java Nigeria Developer Conference earlier on today. The event was such an informative and interesting one (Start 9:00am and End 5:00pm with few breaks in-between). The best conference
I have ever personally attended as everything was according to plan.
No African time and the likes. The conference covers different Java technologies and the new Solaris Operating systems which is also open source. The topics covered includes:
SOA, BPEL, JBI, Solaris 10, Open Solaris, Sun Studio, and AJAX.
Thank you once again SIR for the opportunity. I am glad to be a part of it.
