The Information Systems Officer
will oversee on-going design, implementation, and maintenance of a
management information system to support the needs of all country
offices in Nigeria in order to facilitate information sharing between
in-country offices and CEDPA Headquarters. This position will serve as a
critical link between Management, Program, and Technical staff in the
field, and at Headquarters offices by managing internal and external
communications systems such as e-mail and Internet, but concentrating on
all aspects of Microsoft Windows-based networks. In addition, the
Information Systems Officer will develop, implement, and test backup and
disaster recovery procedures for each country office, and maintain
updated hardware/software packages/operating systems on each client
computer.
The candidate must possess an ability to communicate effectively with
staff at all levels as well as with outside consultants, vendors and
technicians. Knowledge of server hardware for troubleshooting and
upgrading (Perc Controllers, RAID, Manufacturer BIOS Setup, SCSI) is
required. The candidate must have proficiency with virus terminology,
infection methods and precautionary practices. Experience with Microsoft
Windows-based networks, including Windows 2000/2003 Server, Microsoft
Exchange 2000/2003 Server, ISA server is a plus. Database design and
management skills are desirable.
