Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF)
Overseas Scholarship Award
PTDF Overseas Scholarship Award
In furtherance of its mandate, the PTDF is offering scholarships for MSc
and PhD programmes in Engineering. Geology, Science, Geosciences in
United Kingdom for the 2008/2009 session.
Applicants are to note that only those who meet the requirements below
shall be short-listed and invited for an Aptitude Test for MSc and an
interview for PhD applicants. The PTDF will assist successful candidates
in securing admission into suitable MSc courses, while the possession of
a valid University Admission Letter is compulsory for all PhD
applicants.
A MSc Requirements
1. A Minimum Second class Upper Degree in an Oil and Gas related field.
2. National Youth Services Corp (NYSC) certificate.
3. Applicant must be computer literate.
4. Must not be above 35 years..
5. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Possession of any of the following:
(i) Test of English Language as a foreign language (TOEFL)
(ii) G.R.E. (Graduate Record Examination).
(iii) GMAT.
(iv) International English Language Language Testing System (IELTS).
C. PhD REQUIREMENTS.
1. Applicants must possess first and second degree or HND & PGD /
Masters degree Certificates.
2. Applicants must submit a research proposal of not more than 4-5 pages
to include (Topic; introduction, objective, methodology, mode of data
collection Expected results and relevance of proposal to the oil & gas
industry).
3. Applicants must include valid admission letter
4. Applicants who are lecturers must not be above 45 years of age while
others must not be above 40 years.
5. Applicants must include their masters degree project.

3. Flow Assurance and Pipeline Engineering
4. Geology and Petroleum Geology
5. Civil and marine Engineering
6. Ship Building and Marine Technology
7. Renewable Energy
8. Reservoir Engineering/Production Technology
9. Refining Technology
10.Applied Geophysics
Application forms are available at State Scholarship boards in all State
Capitals including the FCT Directorate of Education Abuja. The forms are
obtainable with first Bank draft on payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE
sum of N2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) in Bank draft Made payable
to PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT FUND (PTDF) Abuja.
The closing date of submission of completed application forms at the
Scholarship Board where the form was purchased is November 9th 2007.
