University Business School International Fellowship Programme
02-09-09 - The Open University Business School has
announced its International Fellowship Programme for 2009/10. Academics
and practitioners in all countries, particularly from developing
countries and newly emerging economies, are invited to apply for a
Fellowship
Each Fellowship provides the following:
-
Cost of economy
return air travel and reasonable expenses from successful
applicants’ home countries.

A monthly
subsistence allowance for the duration of the Fellowship.

Allowance for
work-associated local travel.

During their
residence, Fellows will be supported by staff from The Open
University Business School and the wider Open University.
According to its
literature "the Open University Business School is dedicated to the
development of practice-based learning in the field of management and
professional education.
Our world class learning approach takes business, management and legal
education into the very heart of professional practice, enriched by a
worldwide network of partnerships, and underpinned by leading edge
research and a deep understanding of how professionals learn and develop
their practice".
The Open University Business School is one of just 41 Business Schools
worldwide with triple accreditation from EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.
Academics and practitioners in all countries, particularly from
developing countries and newly emerging economies, are invited to
apply for a Fellowship to undertake a project (normally 3 to 6 months)
at The Open University Business School in Milton
Keynes, United Kingdom.
The selection panel welcomes a wide variety of proposals including:
Applications are welcome for projects focusing on various aspects of our
learning and teaching design and which support our practice-based open
learning model.
At this time the Open University Business School particularly welcomes
proposals that would contribute to the process of redesigning its Global
MBA (Master of Business Administration) and support its work on
international management learning and practice.
Eligibility to apply
Consideration will only be given to applications that meet all of the
following criteria:
Candidates should be permanently resident outside the United Kingdom and
normally not United Kingdom nationals. They must be graduates, holding a
permanent post at an accredited university or engaged in the formation
and delivery of educational policy.
Applicants from countries where English is not the first language should
present evidence of proficiency in English equivalent to IELTS 7.0 or
ToEFL 260 (computer), 620 (paper). Applicants must present verifiable
evidence of their English proficiency if requested.
Candidates must receive an approval from their own institution to be
released for the period of the Fellowship.
Candidates must agree to work within the frame of The Open University's
mission and values and, if appropriate, The Code of Practice for
Research.
Fellowships cannot be awarded to applicants who are not fit for
international travel or have any medical condition (e.g. infectious
diseases) that may require urgent treatment.
