Empowerment announcement for Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) Internet for Jobs (I4J) Grant

07-10-10 - Towards the realization of the Nigeria Internet Group's (NIG's) goal of promoting the internet as a platform for creating jobs, The Group launched the internet for jobs (I4J) Initiative on July 12, 2007, with the aim of showcasing the internet as a means of starting up new businesses or expanding existing ones, thereby, creating jobs for Nigerians.

The Initiative is actively supported by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC),
National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Zenith Bank Plc, among others.

This is to invite applications from interested participants for a grant to enable the beneficiaries set up and market their on-line services.



THE GRANT

A grant of One million Naira (NIm) will be awarded to each successful applicant for the development to an e-Commerce web portal and marketing of their online service.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following requirements for consideration:
Applicants must be enterprising and must demonstrate capacity to run an enterprise -existing one or a startup
Applicants must submit a proposal which is an abridged business plan (not more than 15 pages) detailing the nature of business, target market, projected sales and expenditure over a three year period, viability and sustainability, estimated number of new jobs to be created, related experience to the proposed enterprise, available additional funding, value addition to the Nigerian community and the CV(s) of applicant(s)

Shortlisted applicants will be required to present their proposals, using PowerPoint, at the Nigeria Internet Group e-Business roundtable scheduled to hold at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos on October 29 2010, Time 10am


Deadline: All applications must be received not later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20th 2010
