2010 NNPC / ESSO National Postgraduate Scholarship Award

Esso Exploration and production Nigeria Limited (EEPNL) is offering Scholarships to outstanding Nigerian graduates wishing to pursue post-graduate studies in the following disciplines: * Geosciences; * Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Marine and Sub Sea)

Essential Requirements for
NNPC/Mobil Scholarship National Postgraduate awards:

1. Must be a graduate from Nigerian Universities with relevant degree.

2. Candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of second class upper division in any of the Engineering and Geosciences disciplines.

3. Must have provisional admission into an accredited Nigerian University for postgraduate study (M.Sc or M.Eng) in the 2010/2011 academic session.


The NNPC/ESSO scholarship award applies to tuition, books accommodation and up-keep expenses for the duration of the selected course of study.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday, November 9 2010.


Shortlisted candidates
for the NNPC/ESSO Scholarship National Postgraduate awards will be required to come with original and photocopies of the following documents prior for screening prior to taking the qualifying test. Strict compliance with guidelines is advisable.

  • Valid Identification Card

  • Bachelor's Degree Certificate

  • Admission letter for postgraduate study

  • WAEC results

  • University transcripts


Names of short-listed candidates for the qualifying test will be published on the scholarship website and in National Dailies. These candidates will also be contacted  with details of the qualifying test via SMS text and email.



Employees of ExxonMobil subsidiary companies in Nigeria and their dependents are not eligible for this scholarship.

Fraud Alert Notice:
ExxonMobil Upstream Affilates in Nigeria (Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited and Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited) do not use placement agencies that charge scholarship applicants an advance fee of any kind (e.g. application fees, placement fees, test fees, etc).
