CCNA
640-607 VS 640-801
Cisco Certified Network Associate
(CCNA), Cisco’s most popular certification indicates a foundation
in networking and the Cisco environment.
One of the most highly sought entry-level certification exam was updated. There are now two paths for CCNA certification: CCNA 640-801
or INTRO 640-821 and ICND 640-811.
CCNA 640-801 is an entry level exam for those with the “knowledge
and skills necessary to select, connect, configure, and troubleshoot
the various Cisco networking devices.” This piece takes a look
at the one exam path – the previous CCNA exam (640-607) and the
current one exam CCNA path (640-801).
What are the content revisions? How much of the knowledge being tested
has changed? What remains the same?
I’ve tabulated the similarities and differences in this table:

I
hope you can see the basic differences and similarities in the two versions
of the single-exam CCNA. Although this is an analysis of the CCNA one
exam path, proper interpretation and understanding should help in your
certification preparations.
All the best!

Tunde, that was a great great article comparing the old and new CCNA tests. It sure is a lot harder now.
Your article has helped me to focus on what's most important. I'll be subnetting and simulating for my next go round rather than using flash cards.
Thanks for the clarification!
